Come Sail Away

Today begins a new journey at sea--the one place in this world that I feel most content.

The photograph above sums up my definition of peace, tranquility and splendor. I was so blessed to capture this Key West sunset with my own camera--a perfect moment of serenity and enchantment under a simple palm tree--with God's sunshine smiling upon all.

In honor of the ocean--and all that is beautiful about it--here are some of my favorite quotes.

Wishing you a lovely week!

"I'm sailing away, set an open course for the virgin sea. I've got to be free. Free to face the life that's ahead of me."

"It's a marvelous thing, the ocean. For some reason when two people sit looking out at it, they stop caring whether they talk or stay silent. You never get tired of watching it. And no matter how rough the waves get, you are never bothered by the noise the water makes by the commotion of the surface. It never seems too loud, or too wild."

"The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net forever."

"...because there's nothing more beautiful than the way the ocean refuses to stop kissing the shoreline, no matter how many times it's sent away."

"The rhythm of my heart is beating like a drum, with the words "I love you" rolling off my tongue. Oh, never will I roam, for I know my place is home, where the ocean meets the sky I'll be sailing."

Happy Earth Day

“I believe the world is incomprehensibly beautiful — an endless prospect of magic and wonder.”— Ansel Adams

“In all things of nature there is something of the marvelous.”— Aristotle

“Today I have grown taller from walking with the trees.”— Karle Wilson Baker

“A multitude of small delights constitutes happiness.”— Charles Baudelaire

“Keep your faith in all beautiful things. In the sun when it is hidden. In the spring when it is gone.”— Roy Rolfe Gilson

“When we contemplate the whole globe as one great dewdrop, striped and dotted with continents and islands, flying through space with other stars all singing and shining together as one, the whole universe appears as an infinite storm of beauty."— John Muir

A Kensington Spring

Happy Monday! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. I had a wonderful time celebrating my beautiful mom's birthday--we went over to Epcot and enjoyed the brilliant colors and blooms of their International Flower + Garden Festival (along with a great performance in the America Gardens Theatre by Jon Secada!)

To start out this new week, here are some of my spring picks from one of my favorite brands, Boden. With all of the Royal Baby excitement--I went with a dress theme. Maybe just maybe, Kate will appear in one of these lovely designs.

Million Dollar Man: Fredrik Eklund

It's April 15th, and if I have any influence over you, my beloved readers, you will fulfill my two simple requests. One, tune into the Season 4 Premiere of "Million Dollar Listing: New York" tonight at 10 pm EST on Bravo. Two. Use your tax refund check to purchase The Sell. In fact, buy multiple copies and gift it to your loved ones and friends, because it really will inspire you to live the life of your dreams.

Sweden has been famous for many things throughout the years. Ikea. H&M. ABBA. But my love affair with this beautiful country truly started when I came across Fredrik Eklund. Handsome, witty, down-to-earth and smart; he's the classiest agent since I was in the business (yes, fun fact, I spent a moment in time working for both Engel & Volkers and Century 21--on the top teams I might add! I even passed the real estate exam on the first try--which apparently is a big deal here in Florida.)

Fredrik and I have so much in common. He's European. I'm European in my thinking. He speaks Swedish. I speak Italian and Russian (on a good day.) We both have exceptional taste in men (he's taken, I'm still waiting for "the one.") We both love art (Fredrik's husband, Derek Kaplan, is an artist, I studied Art History.) He stays at the Soho Beach House in Miami. I stay at the hotel next door. He works and plays in the Hamptons, I frequent Tate's Bake Shop. We both have hundreds of thousands of followers (he's the Instagram King, I'm the Poshmark Queen), and most importantly, there is never a dull moment when you're around us. We're both quirky, sometimes misunderstood...and definitely passionate, kind-hearted and driven in all that we do in life.

The Sell is such a fantastic read because it's honest, candid and full of amazing tips to help you succeed in anything you wish to accomplish. Fredrik teaches us that success can be found in things you love. You don't have to hate what you do. You can have it all. Hard-work, a genuine spirit, and in my own opinion, being "humbly vain" can create magic. You need to know your value, and quite honestly, sell yourself. You are your own brand. In a career. In dating. In everything. Personality and charm go a long way, and positive fulfillment is at the end of the rainbow. The Sell will give you that extra edge to achieve your goals. To boost your confidence. To conquer the world.

Yes, Fredrik Eklund is my hero. A role model. And he doesn't know it yet, but we're future "besties." One day, we'll be living happily ever after, taking vacations together in the Florida Keys with my future husband (I'm trusting he'll find me one in his likeness--studies say Swedish men make great spouses!) and our future daughters, Lilly and Milla respectively, playing in the sunshine in their perfecly coutured outfits. They'll be high-kicks and happiness all over the place.

So, Fredrik, I gladly extend an invite to you and Derek to visit me here in beautiful Celebration, Florida. We'll do Disney in style, and talk about the future. I may have "retired" from real estate, but for you, I'd gladly dust off my Manolos to help you run your empire. Just call me "The Duchess of the Deal."

Best wishes and congratulations, Fredrik! I look forward to giving you that hug in person. : )

Style Stars: The First Family

The First Family...of style! I am loving this photo from Easter Sunday. The President's purple tie, The First Lady's springtime beauty, Sasha's tropical color-blocking, and Malia's very-affordable + fashionable polka-dot dress! Bo and Sunny amidst all of those cherry blossoms and happiness--it just makes my heart smile.

Easter Blessings

"Easter is the demonstration of God that life is essentially spiritual and timeless."

"See the land, her Easter keeping, rises as her Maker rose. Seeds, so long in darkness and sleeping, burst at last from winter snows. Earth with Heaven above rejoices..."

"...and He departed from our sight, that we might return to our hearts, and there find Him."

Home of the Braves

Today I am headed over to Disney's ESPN Wide World of Sports for what will be my last Spring Training game of the season. Tonight features our home team, the Atlanta Braves, against the Baltimore Orioles. I always have such a fun time there--and of course Disney adds a lot of extra "magic" to the festivities--like fireworks for home runs, Mickey in his baseball costume, and special touches to the field you will not find in any other stadium! Hope you enjoy some of my baseball-inspired style. Also, no matter where I go, I make every step count with my new Fitbit Flex bracelet--designed by Tory Burch. I also love the regular various-color Fitbit bands--but sometimes I go with elegance above all else! : )

Happy April

"There is no glory in star or blossom 'till looked upon by a loving eye; no fragrance in April breezes 'till breathed with joy as they wander by."
