Royal Caribbean's Enchantment of the Seas: Foodie Favorites

Hello, I'm Ashley...and yes, I'm in love with the Royal Caribbean culinary experience. While I'm healthy the majority of time on land--I tend to "let loose" once I hit the Windjammer Marketplace (Royal Caribbean's buffet...and again, yes, I'm always first in line, on the first day, for the cheeseburger!--then I hit the gym.)

The Enchantment of the Seas has numerous options for "foodies." One of my favorite breakfast experiences at sea is the Park Cafe, located in the Solarium (think quiet pool with classical or spa music playing.) It's a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the morning buffet. The English Muffin sandwiches hit the spot, and I love adding a sweet treat, like a mini-croissant or danish, to my menu.

The Windjammer Marketplace offers so much more than "the usual." Some of my favorites through our sailings have to be the omelets made-to-order, Middle Eastern kefta and the delicious Prime Rib. You can also have a light lunch back at the Park Cafe, where you can try the famous Kummelweck Sandwich, or enjoy a slice of pizza with a custom hand-tossed salad.

Deck 6 offers a fabulous anytime treat of Ben + Jerry's (I always get Chunky Monkey!) and Starbucks coffee (a taste of home at sea!) These favorites can be found at Cafe Latte-Tudes.

A formal dining room can be a wonderful experience on any Royal Caribbean ship--but I prefer, since I'm around people all of the time in my current hospitality job--to enjoy spending time with family in a more intimate dinner dining experience--and there is nothing more brilliant than Chops Grille, Royal Caribbean's signature steakhouse. Recently updated with a new menu, Chops Grille is the best of everything--ambiance, service and food. The Enchantment of the Seas has a particularly lovely version of Chops Grille--with floor-to-ceiling windows that create a delightful view for a Caribbean sunset.

My favorite meal at Chops Grille consists of their amazingly delicious pretzel bread, followed by the most exquisite Caesar Salad a gal could ask for (the croutons are home-made and beyond describable!) Then, I usually get the Filet Mignon with Bearnaise Sauce (medium-rare and melt-in-your-mouth fabulous!) with a side of broccolini, mushrooms + leeks, baked potato and yes, their new gruyere tater tots. Our meal is usually paired with a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon.

Last, but certainly not least, my favorite part of the meal (and saddest because it's close to ending)--is dessert. I always get the Mud Pie, with the extra bonus of the Enchantment's best server (and family friend), Gustavo, adding some vanilla ice cream and berries.

So many guests shy away from Chops Grille's cover charge and the idea of a dress code, but honestly, it is the best meal you will ever have, with the most friendly and professional team at sea. You only live once right? Why not enjoy the best of the best.

"Loyal To Royal"....always.
